1. January this year the Faculty of Visual Arts of Colombo opened a new art gallery in the campus
with an exhibition of work by its students and lecturers. This gallery is expected to broaden the space for contemporary art in Sri Lanka. This gallery was named after a great pioneer of the art education of Sri Lanka.
